Exterior Painting

One coat of exterior paint averages to be 1.5 dry mils or one and a half thousandth of an inch. How do you know what you are getting? We measure and monitor the amount of paint being applied to ensure that you get at least 2.7dry mls. Ask the paint contractor how he is sure you are getting what you have paid for. Most contractors haven’t the knowledge of coatings and application methods to be able to know or guarantee the amount they are applying. Just because it covers in one coat doesn’t mean it’s enough.

One of the standard coatings in the industry for Exteriors is Sherwin Williams Super paint. Although it is a good coating it is only one step up from the bottom in the exterior line of their coatings. We use Latitude, Duration or Emerald which are far above in terms of quality, protection and longevity. This ensures you having to repaint after a longer period of time, as well as gaining more protection than with Super paint and others. The lessor cost in painting ,but most important, is the paint itself.

Interior Painting

Primers are an important part of interior coatings. Bare sheetrock, by specification from manufacturers, should have a primer surfacer, prior to texture, to ensure the topcoats look uniform and not different from bare sheetrock and areas where joint compounds are used. PVA sealers over texture give the walls protection from moisture and let the topcoats stand up much better when washed as well as look uniform when touched up. Painted trims and doors should have the best coating available to stand up to the abuse that wear can give them. We use Urethane just as we do on cabinetry.

Commercial Painting

Commercial projects, be it metal or Cementous surfaces, need products that are made to adhere and protect the material being coated. Regular paints such as housepaint’s are not intended to be the best coatings for these applications but we have the knowledge and experience to know what should be used and has proven to last and protect. Products such as catalyzed epoxy, even for walls, are used to hold up to high traffic as well as industrial use areas such as machine shops.

Cabinet finishing

We offer years of experience in doing hundreds of cabinet staining, painting, glazing, antiquing and refinishing. We offer shop finishing of doors and drawers rather than the inconvenience of coating them at your home. We leave no detail undone and can create whatever vision you have. We can offer ideas for colors and finishes that you may not be aware of.

Décor and specialties

We can make new look old and old look new because of knowledge of how to use coatings and stains to create. We can match flooring and furniture stains, which require many different shade colors, to look exact. We match all paint colors to any item, carpet, tile, clothing, bowl etc: and have them approved by you before application.

Part of our job, which we do 70% of the time, is to guide you to find what you want. Years of experience let us offer help choosing, and feedback on your choices. In many cases we help pick tiles, carpets, and supply paint samples when you need to compare color to either, or both, when searching in stores.

New Homes

No one in the area has more experience with new home painting than us. New homes are a blank canvas for creating your vision. Most importantly, knowing how to give you finishes that will last for the longest period of time will be a benefit in not having to redo your interior work. From street of dream homes to your new home, they are all done with same products and finishes. Several new homes we have are now 13 to 16 years old and have not been or needed to be repainted.
